Unable to edit tags

Hi,

I just installed your latest version but I am unable to edit any tags. I can open a picture and view all its exif data by clicking on the "i" button. But I cant figure out how to edit the data. Nothing happens if I double click on the data e.g. hex 9003/9004 entry. "adv..." button also does nothing.

Please tell me how can I edit these entries.

Thanks.

Hello,

it's a few simple steps I think...

a) open file
b) select tag from combobox
c) change value in Value text box
d) click on Add to queue button
e) repeat steps b-d for each tag you would like to change
f) when done, click on Commit change(s) button to write back changes to a file

Optionally you may want to save your changes save to a file for future. Then you can click on white button with changes count and save from new dialog.

I hope this short guide will be helpful for you.

Pavel.

Thanks for the guidance. The problem was that the combo box contains quite a few blank entries at the top so I thought that it was empty. I did not scroll down to the bottom to see the exif tags listed. Now it works well! Nice software!

PS: Maybe you can purge these blank entries from the combo box. Confuses the user a bit.

Hello, I'm glad that info was helpful.

About "empty" records in combobox: these records really exists in a file so I cannot (I don't want) omit them. They have no name and description only. You can write its name into exif_tags_type.csv file as you wish.

Have a nice day,

Pavel.

Hi,

If the records exist in the file then I agree they should not be deleted. But from a user's perspective, I think it will be better if you can move them to the bottom of the list instead of the top.

Cheers!

Hello,

it's a good idea. Thanks. I'll implement it in a new version. I probably mark these unnamed entries by some word, for example "UNNAMED", or etc.
