Adding EXIF Tag 36867 (Date Picture Taken)

I have just downloaded EXIF editor and am enjoying the new flexibility I have with it's use. Thanks so much for making it freely available.

Windows Explorer seems to use EXIF Tag 36867 (hex 9004) noted as "EXIF DT Orig" as the date the picture was taken on it's file display.

I would like to add this tag to a number of my older pictures that do not have this tag, so that pictures listed with Windoes Explorer will show a date indicating my best guess as to when the picture was taken. Can this be done with EXIF editor?

Yes, let's download latest version of ExifEditor and add EXIF tag #9004 to the changes queue and apply to your photos. I recommend to you make backup original photos (to CD/DVD, etc...) before because ExifEditor is using JPEG (lossy) compression while saving.

BTW: EXIF tag #9004 has name "DateTimeDigitized" or ExifDTDigitized in ExifEditor. See EXIF 2.2 specification, page 36, [www.exif.org]
